Comprised of singer/guitarist Isaiah Mitchell, drummer Mario Rubalcaba and bassist Mike Eginton, Earthless have previously toured down under four times; the last time in 2015. In the intervening years, the primarily instrumental trio has embraced Isaiah’s soulful vocals, featured on more than half the tracks on Black Heaven, and local fans will hear these newer tracks, as well as many older deep cuts, in these upcoming shows.

Isaiah Mitchell Reveals his 5 all-time favourite riffs and there are no surprises here.

“Here are some riffs that have a great effect on me. They are very well known and there’s a reason that they are: they helped music change into where we’re at today and the artists themselves have influenced not just me but generations!” reveals Mitchell.

Black Sabbath by Black Sabbath:

“The main riff is the ethos for so many bands and guitarists today.”

My Generation by The Who:

“Such a simple little riff with ridiculous amounts of power. Helped change music forever.”

I Need Somebody by Iggy and The Stooges:

“The descending riff during the verse sounds super shady and dangerous.”

You Really Got Me by The Kinks:

“Another riff that started it all. It is also extremely simple but the attitude inspired so many.”

Just Got Paid by ZZ Top:

“It doesn’t get more stanky than this one. You can smell the smoke and BBQ.”
