A BREACH OF SILENCE // Release ‘Secrets’ Music Video

A Breach Of Silence have released a music video for their track Secrets. It’s the third song to be given the music video treatment from their latest album of the same name.

Released in February 2017, Secrets saw the band work with producer Fredrik Nordstrom; who has worked with everyone from Bring Me The Horizon to Arch Enemy.

The Australian powercore-metal outfit teamed up with with director Matt Donaldson to create the video, which is available to watch right now. Guitarist Mat Cosgrove elaborates that the video is centred around “beauty” as a metaphor for the music.

“We wanted to feature some of our favourite places in Queensland which are very close to our hearts, and it certainly doesn’t hurt to have someone a bit more attractive than us in the video either. But what is she thinking? What does her body language, and facial expressions mean? It all depends upon how you interpret it.”

Bassist Blair Layt says the song was written about the current state of social media.

“The issue with the world right now is that social media reinforces your beliefs and opinions (whether they are right or wrong), which can create less free-thinking and more uneducated opinions” explains Layt.

“That’s essentially what we wrote the song about, but we tried to write it in a way, so people can connect to it however they want. There’s a million different ways to interpret it, and that’s the beauty of music.”

To celebrate the release, A Breach Of Silence are playing a one-off show in Canberra on Saturday 10 March. They will be supported by Hostel, Drowning Atlantis, Maris King, and Deathbeds. Tickets available here.
