Speaking of the location, Pirate, founder of The Black Wreath said ‘This location has been our goal since we conceived the event in 2012. It’s one of the most spectacular festival sites in the country. It will allow us the space to build an event the likes of which Australia has never seen!’

With past headliners including acts such as Psycroptic, King Parrot and High Tension, Blacken Open Air has grown from a single day event in 2013 to a weekend event that brings in bands from around the country.

The Black Wreath are promising 2019’s line up to be the biggest yet and with plenty of space to fill and based in Australia’s centre, festival goers will undoubtedly get loud and unapologetically brutal performances over the May weekend.

While the Northern Territory may have missed out on some big named festival’s in the past, the state is making its own noise and is ready to bring the energetic fury that is metal to Blacken next year.

Early bird tickets are on sale now, with the festival an all ages event, though under 18’s must be accompanied by an adult.
