Southern Californian rockers Bad Suns released their third album, which is also their first album out on Epitaph records. Produced by Dave Sardy at Sunset Sound, the album entertains romantic notions through the bands musical craftsmanship.

Away We Go with the opening track that grooves us into the popping reality that “we don’t have forever”. As we gallop along to the journey of preoccupation, the jumping choruses guide us down an enchanting road as the quartet drive us further into the album with their powering chords.

While still in a similar essence to Bad Suns’ previous albums, Mystic Truth has taken a noticeable pop-rock approach to this compilation with their captivating instrumental range with an album that chimes with twinkling verses and charming choruses, creating a twilight essence through the tracks that have the ability to put a pep in one’s step.

Filled with reminiscent memories that we all probably share, Darkness Arrives (And Departs) takes us through an experience of love lost and choruses chiming: “That’s where you’re wrong, the future’s in only our hands. Isn’t that mad? The night will light your fears away, the sun will dry your tears away. Darkness Arrives and Departs, what’s a little price to pay?”

Bringing the album to an end with the sensation of rekindling, Separate Seas swims us back through the idea of forever and finding oneself, through wanting “Every breath that you breathe”. Starjumper closes the album with a lovely piano introduction that grooves into an electrifying chorus before ringing out into a fitting end.
