Adelaide thrashers Alium are relatively new to the Australian metal scene, having yet to play …
For the fifth consecutive year, the Melbourne Guitar Show will return to Caulfield Racecourse.
Set to take place on 3rd and 4th August, the line-up will feature a haul of local and international artists, as well as a huge gear expo. Not sold yet? There will also be information seminars, demonstrations, and live performances from Australia’s most talented guitarists.
Keith Merrow and Dennis Jones, both from the USA, have been announced for the show. They will join a huge host of local talent, including Ash Grunwald, Sarah McLeod, Dave Leslie, Lloyd Spiegel, Minnie Marks, Phil Manning, Jeremy Barnes, Simon Hosford’s Fair Warning (who will be playing the entire Van Halen debut album), Michael Dolce, James Ryan, Charlie Bedford and Shannon Bourne.
“It’s exciting to see the show develop each year and add value to the live music industry”, says AMA executive officer and MGS organiser, Rob Walker.
“We are proud to present such a broad range and quality of guitars, amps and gear from the big brands to local artisans. And each year we get to put together a program of live music featuring the considerable talents of our guitar community. It’s a great weekend for anyone into music, particularly guitars.”
Produced by the Australian Music Association, the Melbourne Guitar Show is an incorporated not-for-profit. Any proceeds from the event will be used to provide services to the Australian music products industry, particularly the promotion of music making to the community.
2018’s MGS drew thousands of guitar enthusiasts to Caulfield Racecourse. It featured surprise on-stand appearances from some of the nation’s finest artists, including Harts, Darren Middleton (Powderfinger), Bec Sandridge and Dan Sultan– to name a few!
