PREMIERE: THE MOTION BELOW // New Single Wormtongue

We’re proud to stream Wormtongue, the newest single from up and comers, The Motion Below.

Wormtongue is the latest release from the Melbournites. It follows up from their debut EP Reform/Converge, released in March 2017.

The track marks a distinct shift in style for the group, who take influence from both the metalcore and hardcore genres. It features a much more aggressive sound than any of the work they have previously put out and sees the band tap into their deeper, more angsty side.

While past releases had a focus on the themes of personal growth and discovery; Wormtongue is more of a confession. The track is almost therapeutic, built on ongoing experiences of bewilderment, betrayal, and release. The fast paced instrumentals and crushing breakdowns that accompany these lyrics add a fierce flavour to the track, and mark the beginning of a new chapter for the quintet.

The Motion Below began playing shows in 2016 after finishing their Reform/ Converge EP. In the years that followed this, the band have gone from strength to strength; touring their home state of Victoria twice. They have also shared the stage with established bands in the scene like Buried in Verona, Capture the Crown, Windwaker and Bellehaven.

In support of the single the band will add to their touring history, hitting the road over April and May with their close friends in Amberyse, who they have previously shared the stage with.

The Motion Below hail from the Northern Suburbs of Melbourne, Australia. The band is Thomas Katgert (Vocals), Ryan Matheson (Guitars/Clean Vocals), Tyler Goodwin (Guitars), Lachlan Avery-Sproul (Bass) and Aiden Scott (Percussion).
