STONE SOUR // Guitarist Josh Rand Is In Rehab

Stone Sour has had their fair share of member issues over the past two decades, but bald guitarist Josh Rand has always been a constant, consistent presence holding it down alongside Corey Taylor and co.

Unfortunately for both the band and fans however, Rand is set to miss the band’s upcoming US and Canadian dates, due to being checked into a “treatment centre” on the eve of their winter run.

“Though he will be back as soon as possible, we ask you all to keep him in your thoughts” said the band in a statement.

“Until then, the rest of Stone Sour will see you all on tour in Jan/Feb. Thank you.”

It comes at a critical moment for the band, with a huge 2018 in support of last years LP Hydrogad on the books.

Rand had recently gone on record stating the touring cycle had been “amazing”, noting that “We’ve been doing it for 17 years, and now, this album, for whatever reason, it’s really drawing people in.

“Every record is a progression of the previous one, and we’re not a band that puts out the same record over and over again. I think there’s just a maturity over time, just like if you do in any industry or profession.”

Taylor was similarly optimistic when we spoke to him last year, affirming that the band “hates fucking repeating ourselves.”

With the first performance of the band’s US run taking place in Abbotsford last night, Taylor reportedly expressed how the band was a “family”, giving special mention to Bassist Johny Chow for helping keep things steady.
