This outfit have taken everything awesome about all the classic rockers you love–Warrant, Van Halen, Led Zeppelin to name but a few–and merged every great sonic element, thrown on a couple of epic wigs (occasionally), then slapped their own fun-loving lick on it and called it an EP.
The self-titled EP is out 11th October. Featuring big guitars and anthemic vocals, Big Red Fire Truck rightly call themselves a “glimmering beacon of summer rock”.
Back in August Big Red Fire Truck released the EP’s lead single, Heart Attack, and with it, a very hilarious video. In it, the band can be seen loving life, having fun, and generally frolicking about at the beach. The esplanade turns into their own personal stage as they shred and shrill, donning their best 80s hair metal wigs–the song sounds pretty awesome, too! The single aired on over 50 radio stations across the country and received positive feedback from the likes of The Rock Pit, The Partae, AMNplify, and we at Hysteria love it, too, of course!
Taking to the live stage and tearing things apart is nothing new for these boys, either. Fresh off the back of a UK tour supporting Furnace And The Fundamentals, Big Red Fire Truck went straight on to melt some faces at Melbourne’s Max Watts and Sydney’s Enmore Theatre. Soon they’ll be launching the EP with a massive party at renowned Sydney venue, Frankie’s Pizza By The Slice, bringing along with them Cigars Of The Pharaoh and Blussh in support for the night.
Keep your eyes peeled on Hysteria for an upcoming review of Big Red Fire Truck and a chat with vocalist, Digby Robinson.
