DASHBOARD CONFESSIONAL // Teasing Something Big For Tomorrow!

Since their last Australian venture in September, Dashboard Confessional have been pretty quiet with a live Justin Bieber cover the only new form of music from the quartet this year.

That looks to change as today the band uploaded a foreboding picture on their socials that simply reads 11.15.17.

If you listened at school like us, you might realise that this date rolls around tomorrow, and you can bet your socks that we are holding our collective breath for an early Christmas present from the outfit. Ever the master teases, if these guys are playing by the rule book of every other new music announcement ever, we may have a new Dashboard Confessional single tomorrow, their first new material in over 6 years.

Fans haven’t had an album from Dashboard Confessional since 2009 in the shape of the polarising After The Ending LP, which makes this announcement all the more mouthwatering. Taking a more melodic approach to their angst-driven sound, the record was ultimately a turning of the page, with the group taking a hiatus in 2010.

However, 2017 has been a year of the Lazarus-effect for emo-rock, with both Dashboard Confessional and fellow emo-stalwarts AFI gracing our shores within the same month. With a string of dates in December alongside some huge names, including Paramore and Walk The Moon, it seems the group is warming up for a huge 2018, hopefully with a new record in tow.

Given frontman Chris Carrabba teased a seventh studio album recently to MTV, our bets are on a new single and era for the emo-rock masters.

Hopefully there’s one more record to add to your ‘best of’s’ for the year yet!
