Dear Joey and Brooke, What a wild ride! I just wanted to write to express …
Sacramento based rock band, Dance Gavin Dance have kicked off our weekend early by dropping a new track, Son of Robot.
The song follows the release of Midnight Crusade, which was the first cut off the new record. Both tracks will feature on the bands forthcoming studio album, titled Artificial Selection.

Released without an accompanying video clip, Son of Robot continues on the trajectory that Dance Gavin Dance have become known for, meshing hauntingly beautiful vocals with melodic hooks, fast drum fills and out of this world lyrical content.
Artificial Selection will be the bands eighth studio effort, following the release of 2016’s Mothership. It was produced by the post hardcore experimentalists themselves, and was also worked on by Kris Crummett, Erik Ron and Dryw Owens, who have all put their own spin on countless alternative records throughout the years. It is set to officially drop on Friday 8 June, via Rise Records/BMG Australia, but pre orders are available now through Rise Records.
There is no current word on whether or not the band will make their triumphant return to our shores off the back of this release, but it’s safe to say they’re more than due! The group last visited Australia back in 2015, touring off the back of their record Instant Gratification.
In the meantime, both Son of Robot and Midnight Crusade are available for streaming and purchase through iTunes, Apple Music and Spotify. You can also view the track list for the upcoming release below.
