This will be the band’s first release since 2011, and marks their tenth studio album to date. The song title, as frontman Dicky Barrett says, is inspired by something his dad used to tell him as he was growing up. “As a dopey kid, I would go ‘what race?’ and he would always go ‘the human race.’ It’s a really good message, as well as a good tribute to him”. Barrett explains.

“We’re lucky to have what we have. We have this day, and we have who we are in ourselves. If that’s your starting point, that’s pretty damn good” Barrett says.

The single is about the idea of understanding who we really are, our place in the universe and who we think we are as opposed to our true selves.

The Mighty Mighty Bostones have been at the forefront of ska punk for over 30 years now, and still have no equal in the scene. Forming in high school, the band exploded onto the scene with 1991’s Devil’s Night Out.

After rising to fame with 1997’s Let’s Face It, The Mighty Mighty Bostons became the face of ska punk, Headlining at festivals like Vans Warped Tour.

Their signature mix of hardcore punk and ska tones, along with the title of ‘Boston’s best dressed band’ gives The Mighty Mighty Bosstones the reputation of the face of ska punk.

The new album While We’re At It will be released on 15 June, and can be preordered here.
