POLARIS are primed to return to Australian stages, today announcing a massive regional tour this June …
It might be hard for us here in Australia to imagine what it would be like to grow up in New Jersey, however Worriers new single The Possibility gives us a more personalised perspective on growing up in the Garden State. Listen below:
Vocalist and guitarist Lauren Denitzio explains in a statement that “This song is for teenage me, who needed a love song that wasn’t just about riding around town with your sweetheart down the shore […] I wrote the majority of the songs on this record thinking about what kinds of songs past versions of myself would’ve needed or been listening to at different points in my life.”
Worriers forthcoming album Survival Pop, out 29 September through SideOneDummy/Cooking Vinyl, further explores Denitzio’s struggles. She’s undergone open heart surgery at the age of 25, grown up queer, to lost friends to substance abuse and suicide. Denitzio has taken all of her life experiences and rolled them into an empowering journey of self-actualisation.
You can catch the Worriers in September for Weekender Fest and supporting Camp Cope on their headlining Australian tour dates.
You can pre-order Survival Pop here.
