WHISPERING JACKIE // Drop New Catchy AF Single

Whispering Jackie are back with a new single Breaking Up This Time, and have also announced their new EP For The Moment.

Whispering Jackie, the punk-rock trio out of Sydney have just released their new single Breaking Up This Time and are hitting the road to support the release.

The first single off their upcoming EP For The Moment, the band hit Def Wolf Studios in Sydney to have the track recorded and mixed by Daniel Antix (Gay Paris, Sound of Seasons).

The band’s influences are clearly audible on the single, with nods to vintage Magic Dirt, Sonic Youth and Hole while also combining elements from the more modern day sounds of White Lung, Best Coast and DZ Deathrays.

“Breaking Up This Time describes being in an on-off relationship and the ambiguity of not knowing where you stand. The song is sung from my point of view where I’m the one that’s being left, and I’m pleading with them to stay, even though I know deep down it’s not the right thing for me. It’s a situation that heaps of people find themselves in, so I wanted to write a song about that struggle. Everyone’s afraid of being left alone.”  says frontwoman Sare Jackie.

Whispering Jackie will head out on a mini tour to celebrate the new single with shows in Sydney and Wollongong and have promised a music video for the track in the coming weeks.You can check the new track out at Spotify, Apple Music, iTunes and via the band’s socials now and catch them on stage at the following shows:
