VIOLENT SOHO // Release new single, ‘Like Soda’ & announce Oz tour

Gutter rockers Violent Soho have dropped their new single Like Soda, on the back of announcing a raft of national and festival dates for later this month. Watch below:

Violent Soho will also play three cramped n’ sweaty shows on the east coast of Australia at the end of this month. These shows will be fans last chance to see them before they wind through Singapore, New Zealand and all of mainland Australia next year as part of St Jerome’s Laneway Festival.

Violent Soho entered The Shed studios in Brisbane with producer Bryce Moorhead (the same location and producer that they worked with on previous record Hungry Ghost) to record their upcoming fourth LP. Though it’s still in progress, the lads released Like Soda as a nibble before the full-fat LP feature. Guitarist Luke Boerdam describes the sound as “those empty summer afternoons in a RSL and pubs – when all the pokies are empty, beer is warm and there’s nothing but horse-race noise in the background…there’s no resolution in the song – its just describing a daze we’re all in.”

Violent Soho’s Hungry Ghost reached #6 on the ARIA Album Charts. They’ve nabbed plum festival spots at Splendour in the Grass, Groovin The Moo, triple j’s ‘One Night Stand’, Big Day Out, Falls Festival and signed deals with influential record companies SideOneDummy (US/Mexico) and Dine Alone (CAN). They were featured in the Top 15 of the JJJ Hottest 100, received multiple ARIA nominations and won both Album of the Year and Rock Album of the Year at the 2014 AIR Awards.
