TURNOVER // Announce New Record ‘Good Nature’

Indie rock group Turnover have released details about their new album Good Nature, out August 25 through Run For Cover records.

Led by dreamy first single Super Natural, “this whole record is about learning,” says frontman Austin Getz in a statement. “Opening your eyes to new things, going outside of your comfort zone, and learning to grow into something new.” On the new single, Getz says, “That song is specifically about just one type of love, romantic love, and how it became almost meditative for me. It made me feel so relaxed, but at the same time I could feel it was something so big … it’s ‘super natural’ and it’s ‘supernatural’.”

The band spent more time in the studio on Good Nature than on any previous Turnover record. Their last record, 2015’s Peripheral Vision, saw a shift towards a dreamier sound that the band seek to progress with their new record. “[We’re] writing good songs but pushing boundaries, without getting strange just for the sake of being strange,” says Getz of the album’s writing process. “Peripheral Vision was mostly a record about feeling emptiness and not knowing what to do. This one is about the steps I took after feeling those things, and where those steps took me, and learning to try to love the emptiness.”

Turnover also announced yesterday that guitarist Eric Soucy had left the band due to allegations of emotional abuse, with the band stating they “stand with victims of abuse – always” and pledging to “find real solutions to these issues that force all people in these situations to address their actions and to accept accountability and responsibility for them.”
