It’s easy to think throwing Tom Williams (Stray From The Path) and Jesse Barnett (Stick To Your Guns) into a blender would produce a bloody mess with bits of eyeball. That’s way too literal and even crazy, far out man. Figuratively, what comes out is more like a latte smoking a blunt: refined, kind of mellow, but still edgy. It’s a far cry from the aggression of their other bands, but then it’s not supposed to be Stray From The Path and Stick To Your Guns making a sex tape. It is like them trying new positions in the Kama Sutra. Fixed Blade is with hard rock aggression and does not stray far from the path of ’tude. Pain is a Gift is Karma Sutra creativity finding bliss, a beautiful acoustic track that comes out of nowhere. Dead Leaves closes the EP down in a place you didn’t expect to be. Nup not telling, you’re gonna have to listen.
