TAKING BACK SUNDAY // Announce New Album, Twentieth Anniversary Tour

Alt-rock icons Taking Back Sunday are celebrating twenty years of redefining emo with an Australia wide anniversary tour and a new album in 2019. The rockers will be joined by a variety of as yet unannounced special guests as they tour the country.

Each show will have a performance of select double album plays. The tour will coincide with the release of Twenty, a 21-song collection due out 11th January. Concertgoers can no doubt expect some of these new songs to make their debut during the tour.

The current lineup is classic Taking Back Sunday; vocalist Adam Lazzara, guitarist John Nolan, drummer Mark O’Connell and bassist Shaun Cooper, all members of the earliest lineups of the band.

The group released several EPs that received little attention but struck gold with their 2002 debut album Tell All Your Friends, following up with Where You Want To Be in 2004 and Louder Now in 2006. Louder Now’s lead single MakeDamnSure proved to be an enduring emo anthem and all three albums were certified gold in the U.S.
After touring with Linkin Park, Taking Back Sunday returned to the studio to release New Again (2009), Taking Back Sunday (2011), Happiness Is (2014) and Tidal Wave (2016). Despite starting out as emo, the band has endured where bands like it withered out by becoming a genre defying rock group.

Tickets go on sale 10am, 15th October and are available here. My Live Nation members can secure tickets first during the exclusive pre-sale beginning 10am Friday, October 12 until 5pm Sunday, October 14th.
