PREMIERE: SPLIT FEED // Novocastrian Punks Want To Make You ‘Homesick’

Newcastle late 90s/early 2000s punk rock devotees Split Feed are proud to premiere their brand new track Homesick, right off the bat of a successful run of east coast shows and a coveted spot at 2018’s Groovin’ The Moo festival. Watch the video below.

The Split Feed camp have dropped this hot little number ahead of a raft of new east coast dates throughout November.

Homesick expands their raw punk sound a little further, with the band stating that the song is a strident “Newy chant… an ode to broken friendships and relationships.”

Homesick took over a month to develop, writing chord progressions, sending demos to bandmates, writing over each section individually, and piecing it all together. The track was eventually recorded by Clayton Segelov at The Brain Studios (Columbus, Dear Seattle, Vices).

It’s the first single from a forthcoming EP is now in production.

As for the video, their DIY attitude shines through as you’ll see them performing in living rooms, backyards, and the occasional bathtub. Anything goes with Split Feed, and the video is testament to their tongue-in-cheek demeanour.

Split Feed have established themselves as a tight punk rock unit, releasing EPs Late Bloomer (2017) and Googolplex (2015). They’ve also supported rock heavyweights As It Is (UK), The Living End, The Bennies, The Hard Aches, British India, The Rubens and Skegss, and headlined tours in their own right.

They’ll be supporting Sydney’s Perspectives on two dates – although their Oxford Art Gallery show is sold out. Tickets for their Melbourne show remain.

They’ll also announce a special All-Ages Christmas Party for December on the 19th of November.
