Hoping to raise awareness and normalise something so prevalent in the current generation, the bands lyrics are heavily infused with anecdotes to the suffering and struggles that will resonate with anyone who has been there.

Lifeline goes from strength to strength, displaying an incredible amount of vulnerability and versatility for such a young band. Opening up about his personal experience with depression, vocalist Timo Bonner uses the track Honesty as a vehicle of truth, with an intimate almost 2-minute explanation of the trivial ways that feeling overwhelmed can consume you, and the importance of self care.

Dancing along the edge of being too preachy, the album manages to eloquently manifest the rise and fall of living with mental illness, in a way that isn’t over the top confrontational for anyone who can’t relate, but still enjoys the sound.

Lifeline conveys a high level of musical maturity despite it being the band’s first studio album, time will tell if Our Mirage can live up to the standards set by this record.
