OCEAN GROVE // Drop New Track ‘These Boys Light Fires’

One of our favourite local acts and Odd World Music pioneers, Ocean Grove have finally gifted us with a new tune These Boys Light Fires.

Surprisingly it’s an upbeat banger from the boys who usually dabble in dark corners. Vocalist Luke Holmes clarifies that it’s their journey as people from their critically acclaimed EP Black Label that’s got them so jazzed up.

“Although we have always maintained a songwriting style that is very vivid and open to the emotional interpretation of a listener,” says the frontman, “the undercurrent theme of ‘These Boys Light Fires’ is a journey. Written from the viewpoint of someone walking through a garden or labyrinth, ‘These Boys Light Fires’ also draws parallels with our own journey in referencing our growth as people since the last record.” A new album is surely on the cards soon with this release and we can’t bloody wait.

Unsurprisingly with their addition to The Amity Affliction’s regional Death To Misery tour this January, the band have also announced a world domination plan. The Skinny Six have recently signed to UNIFIED for Artist Management, United Talent Agency in North America for agency representation and Evan Davies from Village Sounds as their agent. Catch them as supports for Amity with Hellions in January, as well as a performance at UNIFY 2017.
