OCEAN GROVE // Announce Debut Album ‘The Rhapsody Tapes’, Release Single

Melbourne Odd World collective Ocean Grove have announced their debut album The Rhapsody Tapes, set for release February 3rd, along with first single Intimate Alien. Watch it below:

The single’s accompanying video features an updated version of the band’s mascot, who’s swapped black body paint for gold. It’s anyone’s guess as to the narrative Ocean Grove are building to with their new record, but singer Luke Holmes has teased, “The Rhapsody Tapes explores a fascination with a warped perception of reality.”

The Rhapsody Tapes was written and produced entirely in drummer Sam Bassal’s bedroom, which is absolute insanity the more we think about it. Guitarist Dale Tanner sums up their approach to the record by saying, “we hope to present our art in a way that is incongruous with most, and that is the theme that binds all these songs and topics together – Odd World.” The band have had no outside influence on this record, so it’s time to throw out the hallucinogens cause we anticipate this one’s gonna be weird.
