IN FLAMES and NUCLEAR BLAST RECORDS are happy to announce exclusive anniversary vinyl re-issues of the band’s …
If you’ve survived Hollow World’s onslaught, think again; the Melbourne metal monsters have unleashed another video, Patient Zero, a further journey into the desolate world of Exanimate. Watch below:
Patient Zero was filmed in Melbourne in May by Miki Simankevicius. Footage was captured at their support slot for Fleshgod Apocalypse.
The song is integral to the Exanimate concept. “The song is about the first human to become infected with the virus that ends up wiping out the human race. The song focuses on the severity of the victims symptoms and the way these are viewed by the medical staff treating him. The song sits early in the Exanimate album narrative, before the virus has spread to cause chaos globally”, says vocalist Ben Roberts.
The track was slated for release on previous EP The Wrath Kept Within, but was held over for further refinement.
“I remember we weren’t sure about the middle chug section in Patient Zero for a while, before deciding it worked well enough to leave as is. The ending breakdown section was tweaked for a while before we eventually decided on having a last minute solo from Theo (Goslett) to top it all off”, says guitarist Michael Truscott.
Hollow World are supporting Exanimate with a mini-tour, including a slot at the Dead of Winter festival in Brisbane.
