Former Slipknot co-founder and drummer Joey Jordison has dished the details on his new band Vimic, releasing a new single, Fail Me (My Temple) featuring Megadeth’s Dave Mustaine. Listen below:

Vimic’s self-titled debut album Open Your Omen, is set for an early 2018 release via T-Boy/UMe.

Open Your Open was produced by Jordison and Kato Khandwala (My Chemical Romance, The Pretty Reckless) with mixing and mastering assistance by Mustaine.

“The riffs, lyrics, and drums of Open Your Omen will tell you a lot,” Jordison says in a statement. “We started this record when I was coming out of the Acute Transverse Myelitis condition. It’s literally what saved me and helped me get back to where I’m healthier than ever. These guys and this album pushed me to not only relearn how to walk, but how to play the drums again. Open Your Omen is the rebirth of the rest of my life.”

According to a statement, Jordison was diagnosed in 2012 with ATM, an often-permanent neurological disorder. Spending three months in the hospital and taking rehab and training to recover and hone his musical skills. After rehab and some festival appearances, Slipknot parted ways with him.

Vimic is Jordison, Kalen Chase (vocals), Jed Simon (guitar), Kyle Konkiel (bass), Matt Tarach (keyboards), and Steve Marshall (guitar).

Mustaine also took Vimic on South American tour with Megadeth earlier this year.
