HARD NOISE: IHSAHN // To Perform One-Off Show In Melbourne This May

According to Spotify results, Black metal was one of the most streamed and fastest growing genres in world music at the end of 2017.

It makes sense therefore, that the good people at Soundworks Touring should follow global trends in their late Christmas offering to the Australian public, kicking off the new year by today announcing a special one-off performance by IHSAHN, front man of legendary black metal pioneers Emperor.

Finding fame in the grim Norwegian Black Metal underbelly, IHSAHN was a key member in the infamous “inner circle” of the music’s origins, with members of Emperor actively taking part in church burnings and grave desecration, with ex-drummer Faust eventually convicted for murder.

Despite this turmoil, IHSHAN never lost his drive for creating incredible music, with the frostbitten chaos of Norway serving as the backdrop to genre classics In The Nightside Eclipse and Anthems Of The Welkin At Dusk.

Having also committed his creative powers to the likes of Thou Shalt Suffer, Peccatum and Hardingrock, Australian fans can expect to hear cuts from a back catalogue running 20 years deep in his debut Australian appearance.

Fresh off a European run with Emperor performing Anthems Of The Welkin At Dusk in its entirety on the festival stage, it’d be money well spent to buy a plane ticket to catch one of the form metal musicians in the world come May.
