HANDS LIKE HOUSES // Drop ‘Ana’s Song (Open Fire)’ On Back Of Acoustic Tour

Canberra’s ACT-based capital city rockers Hands Like Houses have dropped their contribution from Spawn (Again): A Tribute to Silverchair, Ana’s Song (Open Fire), on the back of announcing an intimate acoustic tour.

It’s the second single from the tribute album, which drops on the 17th of November via UNFD.

The compilation features classic covers by Ocean Grove, The Amity Affliction, Tonight Alive and many more. Listen to Northlane’s contribution here.

Vocalist Trenton Woodley explains the choice in a statement: “It’s impossible to be an Australian band and not have some recognition and appreciation for the huge role Silverchair has played in Aussie music, and the pathway it created for rock in particular. Daniel Johns has such a strong songwriting style, so when were were asked if we were interested in this compilation, it was an intimidating but exciting prospect to try and bring in our own take on their music, while still retaining and respecting what made them such massive hits. We’re stoked on how it came out and hope it, along with the rest of the compilation, does justice to the significance of Silverchair’s role in Australian music history!”

They have also announced a special acoustic “Resonants” tour for early January, after their UNIFY appearance. The band wrapped up two sold-out headline runs of Australia this year.

It’s also hinted this is the first and last time to see Hands Like Houses in an intimate, unplugged setting.

Tickets go on sale Friday 27th of October.
