Genre redefining

Anon. is a new perspective for Hands Like Houses, proving that they’re not here to pigeonhole themselves in a single genre. This album slips between the boundaries and redefines the direction the band had projected themselves in the past couple years.

Unlike anything they’ve released before, this album is aimed to be successful in the mainstream while staying true to the bands ethos. A change in perspective that ultimately led to a change of musical strengths, Hands Like Houses influences are more along the lines of bands like Queens Of The Stone Age. It’s an easy listening album that suits all emotions, it’s punchy enough if you’re angry, emphatic enough if you’re sad, and boppy enough that if you’re happy you can throw this album on and feel something.

The vocals are cleaner, the sound more refined, the band has established themselves as a versatile rock band. Why limit yourself to the Australian heavy scene when you’re ready to take on the rest of the world? More power to them – Hands Like Houses deserve all the praise we’ve got to offer for this masterpiece of an album.
