Nimrod dookie punks Green Day have dropped Heart Like a Hand Grenade, their behind the scenes look at the recording of landmark album American Idiot. Watch the trailer below:

You can watch the documentary as a Vimeo On Demand release right now. On 11 November, the film will be released in theatres around the globe including Australia, Canada, the Czech Republic, Germany, Italy, Japan, Latvia, Mexico, New Zealand, Russia, Spain, the United Kingdom and Uruguay.

“We can’t believe this was shot over a decade ago. Little did we know that this was only the beginning of the adventure this record would go on to be,” says Billie Joe Armstrong in a statement. “We are stoked for our fans to see this footage for the first time and watch us try and figure it all out.”

Directed and shot by John Roecker (Tim Timebomb’s Rock n’ Roll Theatre, Disease is Punishment), Heart Like a Hand Grenade is considered to be a “lost film”. More than 10 years after the release of American Idiot, the 2015 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Inductees present this time capsule rock doc that takes us inside the songwriting and recording process of their Grammy Award-winning punk rock opera. American Idiot achieved Multi-Platinum status worldwide.

American Idiot was also written into a hugely successful Broadway show.
