The boys from Brissy aren’t really doing anything different with The Kids Will Know It’s Bullshit; they are just focusing on doing it very well. They are still writing songs about the stuff they care (or more accurately couldn’t care less about) and with this record, Dune Rats are really aiming to reclaim that pure sense of fun through sweaty guitar and layabout lyrics.
Tracks like 6 Pack really hone in on the imagery of a down and out kid, doing anything he can to just have a little fun. It’s all about sweaty fists in the air and this track will prove to be a standout on both the record and whilst the boys are on tour.

The Kids Will Know It’s Bullshit is full of the songs you wanted to write when you were 19. Except now you’ve got the time, money and some sense of tenacity to actually hit record. It feels like single track is paying homage to that ripe period. Scott Green definitely remains a standout, but Mary is also definitely worth playing close attention to, once the comedown sets in.
The Kids Will Know It’s Bullshit is a really solid second album from Dune Rats. They stuck to their unique formula and have given the kids exactly what they wanted, whether it’s bullshit or not.
