DOWNLOAD FESTIVAL AUSTRALIA // Drops 2019 Food & Markets Line-Up

Gone are the days where chips on a stick were the sole offering at a festival! Jake Smyth and Kenny Graham of Mary’s, the cult Sydney burger joint, have joined forces with Download again and are ready to serve up one tasty line-up.

Smyth and Graham have also teamed up with some of their favourite chefs for an offering that’s fittingly been dubbed ‘Hell’s Kitchen’.

Headbangers in Melbourne will be treated to grub from esteemed establishments including Igni, Oakridge Winery, Laura at Point Leo Estate and Mary’s (duh!). There will also be food available from the likes of Beatbox Kitchen, Taco Truck, HSP, Juanita Peaches, All Day Donuts, Messina, Leonards House Of Love, Harley and Rose, Blue Bonnet BBQ, Pearl Of The Quarter, Ryan Gozleme, Rice and Dice, Caliko, Brunos, Wagners, Dos Diablos, Lil Nom Noms, That Arancini Guy, The Rib Crib and MILF.

In Sydney, Hell’s Kitchen will feature the Mary’s team, as well as chefs from Momofuku Seiobo, Agrarian Kitchen, Fratelli Paradiso and 10 William St. Organisers have also promised fare from Messina, Mary’s Pizza, Bovine and Swine, Nighthawk Diner, Happy As Larry, Sol Y Luna, Ryan Gozleme, Superior Burger, Sweethawk, Hardstyle BBQ, The Fancy Burger, Get In The Q, Berlin Burgers, Mr HSP, Agape, Caliko, Greek St, Trinhys, Tsuru and Birdman.

“We’ve handpicked these chefs because they are our pals and we love them,” said Jake Smyth.

“They are some of the best people to party with and they cook like fucking bastards too. We want to sell a fuck-tonne of tasty burgers to a bunch of happy heavy metal fans, while getting suitably wasted and banging our empty heads to Ozzy and friends.”

If that wasn’t enough, the Download team have also announced some super exciting market stalls. Punters in both Melbourne and Sydney will be treated to visits from 24 Hundred, figurine stall Popculcha, vinyl market Rare Records and eco warriors Sea Shepherd.

Melbourne will also host US street wear companies Sullen Clothing and Black Flys, while Sydney will host Utopia Records (all some pretty great places to blow the rest of your summer cash if you ask us!).

Download Festival is now less than two months away, tickets are still available for purchase right here.
