DOWNLOAD AUSTRALIA // Yes: It’s On

Download Festival is confirmed for Australia! Organisers have given us a meaty morsel of information about the Festival, set for Saturday 24th of March 2018 at Melbourne’s Flemington Racecourse.

The full Download Australia line-up will be announced Thursday next week, the 9th of November. What we know so far is the Festival will be held over one day, with four stages and the usual food, bars and markets.

28 bands will play the Festival, with about one-third being local acts. This packs everything into one day, until the event grows and becomes more like its UK counterpart.

The first Download Australia will be held in Melbourne with the intention of a national expansion. It is, of course, here with the intention of filling the Soundwave-sized gap in the heavy festival market.

With the amount of buzz and speculation around the festival coming Down Under, it seems like a sure bet. Rumours went into the red as Chris O’Brien, former Soundwave operations manager, tweeted a Download announcement was imminent in September of this year.
