DEVIL’S NIGHT // Halloween To Do The Devil’s Bidding

Brace yourselves, Brisbane. The Rev Kriss Hades will be arriving just in time for Halloween to do the Devil’s bidding.

The guitarist from Sydney psychopaths Sadistik Exekution will be headlining a Halloween concert like few others held in Australia, Devil’s Night. Most notorious for sticking dozens of safety pins in his arms and smashing a similar amount of guitars with his trusty axe, an evening with Hades’ can be best described as a violently destructive psychedelic nightmare.

The evening was masterminded by Morbid Majnun de Sade, former vocalist for seminal Brisbane death metallers Invocation who featured current members of Portal. Less a concert than a ‘ritual’, de Sade explains the timing of the show to be “as possible to actual ritual” and the “line-up to keep things as ‘real’ as possible”. Other musicians joining hades will be Urban Magus and occult-metal act NuN, whose soon to be released debut features the talents of Matt ‘Skitz’ Sanders.

Along with musicians, top pole dancer Dolly de Ville will be performing and a free art exhibition will be open prior to the concert. For the purpose of committing a ritual as realistically as possible, de Sade has had to build a stage by hand and convert a warehouse into a venue. “No venue would let us have candles, smoke machines, incense, nor hang people from the roof. The build has turned into a movie set size”. In his words, it resembles something of a “black burning church”. De Sade promises Devil’s Night will be “the Darkest All Hallow’s celebration we can put together!”

“All participants are blasphemous in some way, some are practising Satanists, others initiated with Occult groups, most anti-Christian in some way”, he reveals. “We are students of forbidden knowledge, and practitioners of dark arts”.

Sounds spooky. Catch the show at Painted Black, 89 Sandgate Road, Albion, Brisbane, Australia on Sunday the 30th of October, 7.30 pm (free art exhibition from 3-6pm). Facebook event here:
