DAEMON PYRE // Announce New Drummer

Sydney’s embodiment of heavy metal evil Daemon Pyre have announced Simon “Socks” O’Malley as their new drummer, after the departure of Nathan Crofts in 2016.

Vocalist Sam Rilatt says in a statement, “The search to replace Nathan has been an arduous one! We’ve spent months and months auditioning, whilst we continued to tour with the help of some great drummers from around the country. Given the calibre of our session guys, the bar was set so high, and it’s really exciting that we can now formally welcome Socks to the band and it serves as proof of just how perfect a fit he is. His winning attitude, combined with his monster drum style and technique, plus a sincere passion for everything to do with drumming meant that he is absolutely the right choice for us moving forward.”

The boys will test “Socks” mettle on the 9th of September, as they prepare to support the thrash gods Vader and Kreator on the Sydney leg of their Australian tour.

Demon Pyre will also embark on a three-show headlining weekender in November taking in Canberra, Geelong and Melbourne as well as appearing at the Stigmata Productions 15th Anniversary show in Sydney on 25th November.

The band is currently in preparations for their second album. Scott Atkins (Cradle of Filth, Behemoth) will be working with Daemon Pyre on this follow-up to their acclaimed 2015 debut.
