CURSED EARTH // Jazmine Luders’ Ex-Partner Alleges Abuse

A woman has come forward alleging abuse during a relationship with Jazmine Luders, vocalist for rising Perth metalcore stars Cursed Earth.

The 22 year-old woman says that Luders made her feel unsafe, and she was forced to move cities due fear for her safety.

“The entire relationship was fuelled on the fear of being attacked or hurt. When I finally realised I can walk away and her actions will have consequences, it felt good knowing I was safe again,” the woman told Hysteria on the condition of anonymity.

“Until I happened to be in the same place as her and her friends where they singled me out and attacked me tenfold. I didn’t feel safe going somewhere that was meant to be a place for everyone. I didn’t feel safe going to my local shops, or into the city. Even working or catching public transport I was constantly in fear of being hurt.

“So I stopped going out and being in public to reduce the risk and it felt worse than the relationship. But over time I’ve moved to a different city and made a great group of supportive friends. Now someone else has experienced the same as me who had more confidence to expose her—I can finally let everybody know that’s what I’ve been hiding all of these years.”

Luders was absent from Cursed Earth’s UNIFY Gathering performance last weekend, with Mark Poida of Aversions Crown taking the stage on her behalf.

Cursed Earth gained traction in the metalcore scene with their acclaimed two part Cycles of Grief EPs released late last year.
