COLUMBUS // Announce Acoustic EP + Single ‘Next To Me’

Brisbane’s favourite smilepunks Columbus are set to release an acoustic EP entitled Next To Me.

Due out April 28 through UNFD, the band have re-imagined favourites from their back catalogue along with a brand new video for the record’s title track. Columbus frontman Alex Moses says of the track in a press release: “Next To Me is a melancholic falling out, which reminiscences about moments with a past lover. I wrote the song about the feeling of knowing you’re drifting apart from someone and there’s nothing you can do.”

The band livestreamed the entire recording process of their Next To Me EP through Facebook and Instagram. When deciding on which tracks should receive the melancholy treatment, Moses says, “It was a very creatively fulfilling process, focusing on acoustic instruments and softer sounds. We’re really proud of the songs and think they stand on their own in contrast to the heavier versions.”
