Dear Joey and Brooke, What a wild ride! I just wanted to write to express …
Local Aussie hotshots Camp Cope and Philadelphian pop-punkers Cayetana have announced a split 7″ to be released January 20 through Poison City Records.
Having formed a close bond after touring in September for Weekender Fest, the self-titled EP features new singles from both bands, including Camp Cope’s Keep Growing and Cayetana’s first release in over a year, Trails. On the A side, Cayetana have opted to place another track Mesa on the split, and is taken from their forthcoming follow up to Nervous Like Me in 2017.
Along with Trails, Side B features a reworked version of Camp Cope frontwoman Georgia Maq’s solo song Footscray Station.
Camp Cope have had a bumper year of award wins, including the Heatseeker Award at the inaugural NLMA’s, and the Best Emerging Act at The Age Music Victoria Awards. Cayetana have also grabbed a few stellar nods from sits around the world including the appraisal by Stereogum, “[their debut is] absolutely astounding… [it’s] high energy and unaffected pop punk”.
