BREAKING: Austin Carlile Leaves Of Mice & Men

Austin Carlile, singer of wildly-popular metalcore act Of Mice & Men, has left the band due to health concerns.

The vocalist took to Twitter from Costa-Rica to share a heartfelt departure note, stating “My team advised me that if I continued to [scream], it would cause “permanent and irrevocable damage to my spinal cord and nervous system.”

Fans of the band are well aware of the toll that Carlile’s medical conditions take on his performing schedule, but his departure from the group has come as a shock to many who believed the singer would pull through as he always has. The band recently cancelled their support slot with A Day To Remember on their Australian Bad Vibrations tour due to the vocalist’s inability to perform. Speaking to Hysteria earlier this year, Carlile said of his daily life, “I’m not great! I’m not bad, but I’m okay. I’m here and I’m going to make it. You go through all this stuff and at the end of the day you have to be okay. Moving on and moving forward, that’s what it’s about.”

The singer’s positive outlook on his life with Marfan’s Syndrome has been well documented however, it seems that touring life has become too much. Thanking his fans, Carlile wrote, “We have done this together, you helped make my dreams come true, and I want to thank you all for the immense support over the years. Now I must do what i have to.” In terms of moving forward, the singer noted that Of Mice & Men would continue as a four-piece and that he is “still able to sing.” Keep an eye on Hysteria for the latest on Carlile’s future projects, and we wish him and the band all the best moving on.
