Sydney’s finest purveyors of sad boy emo, Blue Velvet have dropped a new banger, You’re Not Going Home, to coincide with their upcoming East Coast tour run.
The track follows the release of their excellent debut EP, Collide, released in early 2017. Check out the video below, that shows the frontman Samuel’s heart getting literally ripped out—if that ain’t straight up emo, we don’t know what is.
“‘You’re Not Going Home’ feels like a sort of continuation from what we talked about in ‘Collide’” says vocalist and keyboardist Samuel Bauermeister “The song is about assessing toxic relationships and moving on from aspects of life that you really invested in“.
Having toured with emo stalwarts Moose Blood, Trophy Eyes and Columbus, it’s clear the band know how to craft the perfect finger pointing, emo sing a long, set to induce many a cry fests. Already making huge waves in the local scene, 2018 will see Blue Velvet continue to take over the Aussie alt scene with their unique brand of heart on your sleave rock.
