BEACH SLANG // Frontman To Release ‘Quiet Slang’ EP

Frontman of exciting heart-on-sleeve punks Beach Slang, James Alex has announced a new band-within-a-band ‘Quiet Slang’ EP, We Were Babies & We Were Dirtbags.

Much of the EP features Alex playing solo with arrangements for piano and cello. Alex announced his album by releasing a “quiet” cover of Bad Art & Weirdo Ideas from Beach Slang’s 2016 breakout album The Things We Do To Find People Who Feel Like UsWe Were Babies & We Were Dirtbags is set for a 20th of October release. Watch the cover of Bad Art below:

The EP includes two covers of Alex’ own music, as well as a cover of The ReplacementsAndrogynous, and Big Star’s Thirteen.

Explaining his motivations, Alex states: “I suppose we’re all chasing something that resembles salvation, something that calms our bones. Maybe this is some small slice of that. Maybe it’s not. Maybe it’s chaos in soft clothes. Maybe it’s frightened. Maybe it’s fearless. Maybe it’s both. Or maybe it’s nothing. I don’t know, but I think about this: one day I’m going to be dust. And when my soul splits, maybe this will be the thing that sneaks me through the gates. If not, well, those are the breaks.”

Pre-orders for Quiet Slang are available now.
