badXchannels // Chiodos Disbands, Craig Owens Announces Solo Project badXchannels

With the announcement that Chiodos is no more, fans would understandably be devastated that they would no longer be able to hear Craig Owens pipes. Speaking to Billboard about the split, the singer says, “There were just kind of, not necessarily bad vibes, but we came to the realization that we can’t do it full-time. I think it just stopped becoming a passion for all of us, so we said, ‘Alright, let’s stop.’” The despair from fans is thankfully short lived though, as Owens has announced his debut EP »WHYDFML« under the guise of his new solo project badXchannels.

Out November 18, the EP contains five songs that mix R&B and soul together in a new direction for the famed singer. »WHYDFML« is the first release from SharpTone Records after its inception in June. badXchannels has also premiered his first single One Car Funeral on Spotify from the record and is available for streaming now. Also speaking to Billboard about the potential backlash from the new direction, Owens says, “I think people are embracing it, and they like the fresh vibes. I think I’m at a point where people have some faith in me and will give me a pass to go somewhere new.”
