ARCHITECTS // Tom Searle Passes Away From Cancer

Architects’ guitarist and songwriter Tom Searle has passed away.

Twin brother and drummer Dan Searle broke the news on Facebook earlier, revealing that Tom had been battling cancer for the past three years.

Dan cited his brother as a “Funny, sweet and intelligent man.”

“He was an incredible songwriter and guitarist. He was my closest and oldest friend.”

Uncertainty now surrounds the future of Architects, but the band remains “one hundred percent” committed to finishing their All Our Gods Have Abandoned Us tour.

The UK metalcore outfit will still visit Australia with Bring Me The Horizon in the coming weeks.

“We want to carry on, that is important to say, and we will strive to do so, but we will not release any music unless we truly believe that it is something that Tom would have been proud of. Whether or not we can achieve that is something that we will have to discover in time.”

Dan said the passing of his brother meant the band “Would never be the same.”

“For now we need to begin to process what has happened. Myself, Sam, Ali and Adam will need time to fully come to terms with the loss of our brother and we hope that everyone out there will continue to respect our privacy during this terribly difficult time.”

Our hearts go out to the band and their family during this difficult time. Read the full post from Dan on the Architects’ Facebook page here.
