Dear Joey and Brooke, What a wild ride! I just wanted to write to express …
Love Vs Logic, the debut album from Arizona’s AMOR, is a melodic hardcore release that showcases the trio’s growing interest in experimenting with electronic elements. The album embodies the band’s conscious effort to challenge the stereotypes surrounding the many genres their music sits within, following in the footsteps of bands like I See Stars and Australian boys Storm the Sky.

From soaring vocals to bass riffs reminiscent of the grunge era, Love vs Logic appears to showcase the AMOR’s multi-faceted talent and could captivate fans of electronic rock through to progressive hardcore.
The album starts off heavy, with Clockwork highlighting the impressive vocal talents of frontman Dillon Conneally, while Twice Again plays out as one of the heaviest songs on the album. However, with the beginning of track seven, Tonight Always, the album takes a step into a slightly more experimental direction, backed with a more up-tempo drum beat followed soon by album highlight Living Lies which plays around with rhythmic choruses and hooks.
The album is well produced with a distinct atmospheric feel coming from well-used echoes and fade outs, making some areas of the album feel more like an Empty Room Session than a debut. It’s a crisp, clean sounding release and is commendable for a debut album.
Love vs Logic is lacking any typical power ballads or guest vocalists, however with a run time of only 39 minutes it appears AMOR’s focus was on defining and perfecting their own sound, a feat that appears to have well and truly been achieved.
