NEWS: ALICE IN CHAINS // Clear The Way For New Album, ‘Rainier Fog’

Hard rock legends Alice In Chains have today revealed the release date for their long awaited album Rainier Fog, the first album in five years from the Seattle quartet.

24th of August is the coveted date we’ll hear the sixth studio album in full, but Alice In Chains have allowed fans a sneak preview of what’s to come with the release of a second single, So Far Under which you can hear right here.

Alice In Chains vocalist and guitarist William DuVall has said of the new single, “It’s about feeling completely up against it – outnumbered, surrounded, facing seemingly unbeatable odds and being really pissed off about it. It was inspired by personal circumstances, as well as events in the wider world. But it’s not as resigned to defeat as it may seem.

“Everyone in the band and our studio team really stepped up and knocked it out of the park on this one. We’re extremely proud of this song and the entire album.”

Even 30 years into an illustrious career, new album Rainer Fog marks a fair few firsts for Alice In Chains. It’s their first album to be released with BMG and the first they’ve recorded in their hometown of Seattle in more than 20 years. The band recorded at Studio X, the same place their 1995 self-titled album was recorded. Rainier Fog follows 2013’s The Devil Put Dinosaurs Here which dominated charts the globe over.

Heck, it doesn’t matter how long it takes them to get new tunes out, Alice In Chains are and always will be, one of the most successful and influential rock bands of all time! (Not that we’re editorialising or anything… – Ed.)
