HACKTIVIST // Drop Surprise EP ‘Over-Throne’

Hacktivist

Just like Kanye and Avenged Sevenfold, UK djent-hoppers Hacktivist have hitched up to the “surprise” release train, dropping four-track EP Over-Throne without warning today. Listen to the title-track below:

It’s the first new lot of tunes since their acclaimed LP Outside the Box landed earlier this year in March via UNFD.

Over-Throne also features a cover of the Cypress Hill classic (Rock) Superstar, which first appeared in RockSound magazine’s 200th commemorative issue Worship and Tributes cover CD; an acoustic version of Taken and a remix of Buszy, which both appeared on Outside the Box.

“Over-Throne is one of the first new tracks we’ve written since the Outside The Box album came out earlier this year,” says vocalist Ben Marvin. “It’s about people taking the power back into their own hands. We no longer want or need to be governed by soulless money making machines. THEIR interests are not OUR interests. Too much blood has been shed.”

Hacktivist, a fusion of guitarist and producer Timfy James and hip-hop MC, has won over audiences and press in both metal and rap camps. Hacktivist have graced major festival stages including Sonisphere, Rock Am Ring/Im Park in Germany, Download, T In The Park and Reading/Leeds festivals. They toured Australia in September with Enter Shikari.

Over-Throne is available now via UNFD.
