Hands up who’s seen The Castle? You know, the most Australian movie ever. Apart from …
Following multiple accusations of sexual misconduct and predatory behavior throughout the entertainment industry, Brand New frontman Jesse Lacey is the latest to be outed, this time for alleged misconduct with a fifteen-year-old girl.
The accusations stem from a public Facebook post from Guns N’ Roses and Fall Out Boy guitar tech Brian K. Diaz. The status reads “So, while we are on the topic of outing famous and semi-famous creeps, anyone want to speak up about Jesse Lacey from Brand New?”
A woman named Nicole Elizabeth Garey responded with a string of comments detailing that Jesse requested nude photographs from her when she was a minor, demanding specific poses and settings before telling her weeks later he deleted them and needed more. She also says that Jesse made her watch him masturbate via Skype and that she has photographic evidence of the misconduct.
Her full comments, which were originally published with her permission on Uproxx.com can be read below:
“YES. He solicited nudes from me starting when I was 15 and he was 24. Manipulated the hell out of me, demanded specific poses/settings/clothing, demeaned me, and made it clear that my sexuality was the only thing I had to offer. He knew what he was doing was shitty so he wouldn’t touch me until I was 19. I should have known better by then, but he had screwed me up so much psychologically that all I wanted was his approval. It fucked me up to the point that I STILL have nightmares and wake up in a sweat. I still break down and have panic attacks when people play Brand New in a bar. JESSE LACEY IS A PIECE OF SHIT.”
“And he did tell me he deleted them a couple weeks after we talked. That’s why he kept asking for more. That’s how I know he knew what he was doing.”
“OH AND YES HE MADE ME WATCH HIM MASTURBATE ON SKYPE. Apparently, that’s a common thing with sexual predators. I took screenshots at some point, they’re probably on a computer in my basement if I ever really wanted to rehash my past that much (I don’t think I do).”
Jesse is yet to respond to the allegations.
