DEAD GIRLS ACADEMY // Premiere ‘I’ll Find A Way’ Video

Gothic rock is alive and well folks.

Some will put the survival of the likes of Motionless In White, Escape The Fate and Falling In Reverse down to the fanatical fan-base of noughties teenagers that came across their Myspace pages, but it seems Victory Records is intent on keeping the trend alive, announcing the signing of Hollywood act Dead Girls Academy.

Fronted by Michael Orlando. formerly of alternative act Vampires Everywhere, the act have dropped their first single I’ll Find A Way, full to bursting with all the suicide, religious and demonic references a band of grown adults could seemingly muster.

In all honesty, the song itself is an admirable slice of pop-rock with a catchy chorus, standard shred-fest of a bridge, and harmonies galore. It’s clear that working alongside Falling In Reverse frontman Ronnie Radke has paid dividends for DGA.

However, the way the band have portrayed someone struggling with their own personal demons is a tad cringe-worthy, presented through sub-par acting and Orlando running through the streets of Hollywood to a church for some unexplained reason.

You be the judge and check out the video below.

Speaking about the project itself, Orlando noted how the decadence of Hollywood helped inspire the topics and vision of the band.

“Living in Hollywood, there are so many fucked up things I’ve seen, the stories in my head, I could write six novels about them all. But that’s what breeds the creative juice and you will believe me once you hear Dead Girls Academy” says Orlando.

“When Ronnie and I sat down to write I’ll Find A Way, we were pretty adamant on stating truths…I’m hoping this story, this song will give hope. The cure to happiness is inside us and we must not give up without a fight.”

Victory Records signed Dead Girls Academy after their strong live showing on The End Is Here Tour, a bill that featured the aforementioned Falling In Reverse, Motionless In White and Issues.

The band’s debut record is set to arrive in the American winter, so get that eyeliner ready.
