RISE AGAINST // Announce Australian Tour

Frontier Touring are thrilled to announce that Rise Against are heading back to Australia and New Zealand in February for a headline tour, alongside special guests SWMRS.

The tour will span seven dates and all promise to be their biggest headline shows here, as they celebrate the success their chart topping album Wolves has enjoyed. Rise Against have always been huge in Australia—selling out their last tour in December 2015 —and had a memorable run of stadium shows in support of the Foo Fighters, so all signs point towards this run of shows looking likely to sell out also.

Wolves was instant hit upon its release in Australia, charting at #5 on the ARIA Charts and singles such as The Violence and House On Fire shows the influence the US Presidential election had on the politically motivated band.

“In many ways, a Rise Against show is a safe space for our fans,” says vocalist Tim McIlrath.

“But I realised … I want to create dangerous spaces where misogyny can’t exist, where xenophobia can’t exist. I want to create spaces where those sentiments don’t have any air, and they suffocate: where those ideas die. Wolves isn’t about creating a safe space, it’s about creating a space that’s dangerous for injustice.”

The punk four-piece will be bringing along their childhood mates in SWMRS (formerly Emily’s Army) as special guests on the tour, and it will mark the first time the Californian rockers hit our shores.
