The insane video is driven by the concept and character of the psychopathic misanthrope Sherlock Bones, a skull faced preacher who demonstrates his powers over people throughout the video. In the video the sharply dressed Bone’s is shown performing multiple heinous acts in front of a loyal congregation, while The Gloom in the Corner perform in the corner of his chapel.

Misanthropic lyrics tells part of Sherlock’s story, as the overarching concept of The Gloom in the Corner’s revolves around unveiling the fate of the character through the bands focus on lyrical narratives.

This concept will be fully realised on the release of their new EP Flesh & Bones, the band say.

The bands music is sonically challenging, with Misanthropic being no exception as the primal screams of vocalist Mikey Arthur cut through the heavy drums and guitar. Even in softer moments the music feels oppressively foreboding.

Melbourne’s The Gloom in the Corner released their first album Fear Me in 2016 and have released a slew of singles including 2018’s Villain.

Misanthropic single release will be held on May 11 at The Workers Club in Melbourne and promises a “captivating spectacle full of surprises, twist and turns,” according to show promoters.

THE GLOOM IN THE CORNER Misanthropic single release shows:
