WE LOST THE SEA // Celebrate Second LP With New Vocalist, Tour

One of Australia’s, if not the world’s most sparkling hidden gems We Lost The Sea have today announced a string of December dates to celebrate the fifth anniversary of their celebrated second LP The Quietest Place On Earth.

A heartbreaking record, the album serves as a memory to the incredible talents of vocalist Chris Torpy, who sadly passed away in 2013.

Described by many as one of the finest vocalists in the heavy music world, the tragedy sent shockwaves throughout the global music community, with the band bravely pushing on without a vocalist and releasing their instrumental masterpiece Departure Songs in 2015.

Having toured Departure Songs relentlessly  around the globe over the last three years, the homecoming will mark the first time the band has performed with a vocalist since Torpy’s passing.

“We’re going to wrap up 2017 with some shows in honour of this record that really helped define us as a band and our sound…and of course Chris, whose influence on this album was a huge and stark reminder of the talent we lost when he passed,” says the band in a statement on Facebook.

“We’ll be joined by longtime friend Jarrod Krafczyk on vocal duties…and we’ll be playing a mix of songs from all our records which seems fitting.

These will be our last shows before we go into hiding and working on the next album, hopefully to be released next year.”
