WARREL DANE // Vale Warrel Dane (Nevermore, Sanctuary)


Warrel Dane, of Nevermore and Sanctuary fame, has reportedly passed away in São Paulo, Brazil, suffering a heart attack while working on his latest solo album titled Shadow Work.

Reports say the 48 year old was in his flat in São Paulo, where he had stayed for the recording of the album, when he suffered the heart attack.

Johnny Moraes, who was featured on the album, has been quoted as saying the following to a Brazilian outlet:

“He died tonight, of a heart attack. It was in the flat where he stayed for the recording of the album, when it happened. I performed cardiac massage, we called emergency services (SAMU), who arrived very fast, but when they arrived, he was already dead,” Moraes says.

Moraes also added that Dane was suffering from a number of health issues.

“His health was already very weak because of his diabetes and his problems with alcoholism.

“He was already facing a lot of health problems.”

At this stage it is unclear whether the album will be completed.
