Each year the Splendour in the Grass festival offers a diverse range of world-class local and international headline acts and this year is no exception.

In addition to the news of the exciting 2018 line–up, the iconic Australian festival has announced five sideshows ranging from Liverpool outfit The Wombats, protest and genre busting hip hop artist Yungblud, Scottish singing sensation Lewis Capaldi, Chicago rapper Towkio to English alt rockers Marmozets.

The emerging rise of The Wombats is very much like another certain band that came out of Liverpool in the 60’s; having had big success with the latest album Beautiful People Will Ruin Your Life, the band will be playing two massive sideshows in Sydney and Melbourne whilst Yungblud’s street poetry mixed with hip hop and ska will make for some great intimate club shows. Lewis Capaldi has taken the Internet by storm breaking the record for being the fastest independent artist to reach 25 millions plays on Spotify, his stunning voice has turned him into a young phenomenon.

Towkio is making his first ever appearance in Australia, the rapper was signed by legendary producer Rick Rubin and will be performing his debut album WWW for some special sideshows and Marmozets will have a few anthems up their sleeve fronted by charismatic singer Becca Macintyre bringing their fans down under some new material from their album Knowing What You Know Now and translating those songs live onto sweaty dance floors with their primal rock energy.

If you can’t make your way to Byron Bay for this year’s Splendour in the Grass Festival, make sure you catch one of these incredible side shows by some of the most up and coming and emerging talents that are making significant waves in contemporary popular music.
